Planting Seeds- Part 2

It has been a very long time since I have written my last blog as time doesn't seem to be my best buddy anymore as it keeps slipping by the moment. But after seeing my friend Fanny's comment, initially I just wish to post a comment back but as I wrote on, I feel that a blog post will do the reply more justice =)

Fanny, what I feel is that to me random act of happiness in this context are seeds that you have dropped along the pavement. You never know what seeds you have dropped as they are too random and you will start noticing it only when the plants have grown up.

Since you do not know what seeds you have sow, the result can be anything, good, neutral, disastrous, who knows? However planning does not mean that things will go your way but if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So some planning is better than no planning. The challenge of life thus lies in the fact that even if you plan, you might not get what you want. Hence people might be discouraged from planning too much. And some people just get things that they want without planning.

When we see this, we start questioning ourselves, then why are we spending the effort to carefully plant every single seed when the result is not even guaranteed? To me it is just a game of probability. As you start planting seeds intended for certain result, your percentage of success might be low initially as it is a specific result that you wish to attain. However as you become more experience, you know the technics of doing it and start being able to plant seeds that yields good result with higher probability. However this might take time and most people gave up along the way.

Now let's look at random seeds that we plant along the way. It is always a matter of 50-50, you might win or you might lose as it is just random probability due to no control over the situation. In the short run, you might be better off, as things might just fall on the good side of the 50% which is better than planned intention. However due to lack of control, no improvements are going to be made and results are always undetermined.

Of course some might argue that it is alright to be random, just kill those plants that are not meant to be. Well what if the plant happens to be a bad one that is resilience and highly efficient in reproducing itself. You might not even be able to kill it and it might even grow out of proportion and become a permanent obstacle that obstruct your intended path of progress.

I believe life is a gamble but it must be taken with calculated risk and always improving on your odds so as to achieve the result you want more and more often. So in comparison, it is obvious that I would take the planned path so that life might be hard in the beginning but improvements are always happening as long as I work hard on improving it. Perhaps randomness is too risky for me ^^.

And if you look at another perspective, life is exciting because you never know what you are going to get. And it is more challenging and exciting when you challenge it and when you finally win over it, that is the reward for trying and the satisfaction is what give life its fiery existence- to seek to burn at its brightest.

If life is a journey, living to the fullest means that you have chosen to take up its challenge and have not escaped from the obstacles it have posted you. One only regret his life if he has not done the things that he wish to do due to the lack of courage to face it.

We know that we cant escape from dropping some random seeds here and there, but I would prefer to have more intended results so that my life will overall be one that is filled with beautiful plants. In the end as I look back, a beautiful garden is what that greets me =)
